The temptation of eating unhealthy food is really hard to resist! I could vouch for that because I lived for eighteen years eating everything I want without taking consideration of its health implications. I do not say that one is prohibited to eat delicious yet unhealthy food; everyone is free to do such thing. However, if you do such thing, you will always suffer the consequences. You’ll get obese and you’ll get sick easily for you don’t get enough vitamins and minerals that are supposed to be from healthy food. Unhealthy food is supposed to be a “treat” and the healthy food is supposed to be eaten regularly. It doesn’t work the other way around. So if you think you’re leading the unhealthy way, then it’s not too late to shift paths.
Aside from the Lenten season, a lot of people, mostly the working class, are happy with this season. And if you ask me why, it is simply because we are having a long holiday!!!! Four days of no work (from Holy Thursday until Easter Sunday) is quite a long rest! That is why we can’t blame other people that take advantage of the time. I mean instead of joining processions and repenting for their sins, they would spend their vacation in a resort where they can bond with their family and friends to relieve unnecessary stress. Besides, it all boils down to our own judgment and preferences. And I’m glad that most places considered this season as a non-working holiday.
I have always been a fan of vanilla ice cream that is drizzled with crushed cookies since I was in first year high school. I was thirteen when I first tasted MacDonald’s McFlurry. I enjoyed that gastronomic adventure with my close friend, especially that were eating sweets. However, as time passes by, MacDonald‘s found the need to innovate their decade-long hit. And so they created the “McFlurry Overload”. It was last week when my dad bought me one and I was surprised that it was contained in a larger cup. I guess it was a huge 12 oz. serving of vanilla ice cream, and it’s overloaded with lots of oreo cookies! Yum! Such a delightful dessert to lift up my mood! =)

They said that the best exercise is swimming. But not all people enjoy the chill of this water dipping exercise. And besides, not all people know how to swim. But I do have a remedy for swimming—dancing! Dancing is the next best exercise aside from swimming. The very reason why they say that swimming is the best exercise is because swimming makes you move every muscle and sinew of your body. It goes the same with dancing. In dancing, every part of your body also moves. The main difference with the two forms of exercise is that you burn more calories in swimming because it’s quite hard to move in the water. But the bottom line is that both exercises makes a person healthier and younger.

For a healthy option, they say that eating fruits and nuts is better than eating junk foods. I understand why dieticians recommend fruits. Of course, it has less fat, high in fiber and rich in vitamins and minerals. What I don’t understand is that why do they recommend nuts when we know that nuts is high in fat & calorie content. But what we don’t know is that people who eat nuts regularly have lower risks of heart disease.Nuts are one of the best plant sources of protein. They are rich in fiber, phytonutrients and antioxidants such as Vitamin E and selenium. As long as one can restrain from overeating it (which is hard not to) nuts can be a part of a healthy diet.
