Going on an outdoor trip with family and friends can be an exciting thing to do. Camping in forests, nature trekking, skinny dipping in lakes, beach swimming can be so much fun but then again, there are many things to consider. Grown ups as well as kids should know the hazards of going outdoor. Everyone should know how to render first aid in emergency cases. Best of all, we should teach our young ones about the rules and safety of the place we are going and they should learn the fundamentals of life saving. Safety should be everyone’s main concern. Small things like flashlight, Swiss knife, lighter, pain relievers, band aids, bandage, etc. These are the basic things that a camper should pack with him in-case disaster blows up the fun. These are small things yet very essential because they could be big life savers!

Yes, indeed! The heat is on. Summer is here once again and along with that comes the “Summer Disease”. It is the season for the so called Varicella Zoster or commonly known as Chicken Pox. This disease is caused by a virus and is contagious. It is common among young children, yet, grown ups could catch it too. You can get it from a person who has the disease but if you have been vaccinated, you will have a rare tendency of getting sick. It is manifested by red bumps popping out of the face, arms, legs, scalps and other parts of the body. It grows into blisters and the infected person would feel so sick of fever, headache and colds. Chicken pox can be transmitted from one person to another by salivary droplets from sneezes or by simply touching the infected person’s blisters. We don’t want our kids to get this disease during this season when they should be having fun. Kids sick with chicken pox need to be isolated until blisters turn into scabs and then fall off. These blisters are very itchy that kids could not avoid scratching it. Chicken pox is no fun and better yet, get your kids vaccinated now!

My mom used to monitor my jewelries and she would sometimes check on it and have it cleaned and polished if it’s necessary. But lately, I noticed that she would no longer do such jewelry checking. And so I thought that maybe she is trying to teach me a lesson. And so I was forced to move on my own. I have this eternity ring that I’ve kept for a long time and I thought it might need some cleaning for the dusts are hiding at the side of the stones. With the help of a friend, I was able to find a jewelry shop that also accepts jewelry cleaning. And so I had it cleaned and polished. With that, I think it’s time for me to do it on my own now and that shop would now be my constant jewelry cleaner!
