I recently had the chance to visit with David Kitchen, the CFO at SimGym.com and Apple Seed Apps, LLC. I wanted to learn more about the new 2010 fitness app that the SimGym team produced and I asked, “What’s all about this Gym Sim or Sim Gym thing anyaway?” I wondered, why the “fitness app” after many others out there have done the fitness app thing already, such as iFitness and iStayFit. David responded, “Well, we’re passionate about it and we’ve used other workout apps and over time we just felt like they weren’t doing the job.” David boasted on the good qualities in some of these weightlifting apps, but noted that some of them were “feature frenzied” listing too many wasted fitness options or not providing enough true fitness tracking metrics, escpecially for the complexity behind them.
“What we did is take the fundamental calculations, found in any basic workout, while using the 1 Rep Max methodology… we help the gym rat keep visibility of their percentage of 1 Rep Max, allowing to have a Maximum Number of Reps clearly identified, based off of previous performance and the bodybuilder’s workout goals. Sim Gym simplifies things by providing the metrics, the basic workout plan for anyone getting started, because we realize there are many meatheads out there that know what they are doing in the gym.” So the others who are learning or want to diverisfy can find more workouts for download at www.simgym.com. The iphone app to website synchronization is crucial to give on the go fitness buffs options in preparing their workouts, organizing and tracking their fitness results. Just because there are apps out there on iTunes first page, it doesn’t really mean they are the best, just the most popular, at the time! We’re here to make a difference in the time served in the gym… so novices and fitness professionals alike can get in and get out and maximize their workout routine while getting real time tracking tools. Not Gym Sim, but SimGym, a Simulated Gym Trainer at your command. The SimGym Fitness App – We do the work, while you lift the weight!”
